Not sure what significance this has, but the first non-euorpean pope for 1000 years has been elected, and the first ever Jesuit. His name was Jorge Mario Bergoglio, but is now Pope Francis (76 years old). Sounds like Malachi got it wrong, though something may be construed.
What does this mean? Is it a sign of the end? Some would like to say so. Personally I see no prophecy this is fulfilling. Time will tell what the reality is though.

Will God perfect us in a twinkling of an eye when Jesus returns, or will Jesus perfect us in this present world?
