For many, the pursuit to happiness is an all consuming goal. We hope to find fulfillment and joy in the fashion of the world, or the various entertainments of the world, but though some fun can be found in those areas, the will never bring true happiness. So how do we get happiness? Do we get the job we have always wanted? Do we get the partner we always wanted? Do we watch the movie we’ve been dying to see? Do we ignore the pain and suffering in the world, by medicating it with drugs or alcohol or any of the many social addictions in the world?
Contrary to popular belief, these things simply don’t have what it takes to produce a long term happiness. In this sermon, Mark shows us what will give us fulfillment and true happiness in this life.
